Just so you know, I was not affected by last night’s tornados in Illinois. Prayers and thoughts for those who were.

  1. Found your town on the maps…. you’re in the middle indeed! I hate tornadoes, can’t even imagine how it looks like when there’s one on the way… I hate earthquakes too …. I experienced the one which stroke Italy in 2012… 😦 😦 😦

    • It was a bit dicy last night, we had the cat in the carrier and the dog harnessed up, just in case. We do have a sturdy basement. But we mostly got wind, thunder and rain.

Occasionally, we get little earthquakes, but I’ve never even noticed them. That scares the crap out of me. Severe weather you can usually see coming and prepare, but an earthquake? That’s out of no where.

      • You’re right, earthquakes come out from no where. I remember that the first time I experience one I thought what the hell are they doing upstairs but it was not my neighbourgs…. well,I suppose that one get used to hard situations so no I’m perfectly aware what can I expect here in Italy….. earthquakes and floods…. and I learnt how to behave in case.. 🙂 Are you always in danger during tornado season?

      • Most stuff misses us. We’re not in a super hot spot, but typically you get at minimum a day notice. They’re pretty accurate down to the hour. Just hail and wind damage is all I’ve seen, but we’ve all got basements so we’re pretty safe I reckon.

      • Oh, I can easily sympathize with them…. and have no appropriate word to tell, I just hope everything will be fine soon… shivers are running down my spine…

      • I’m sure they’ve gotten things fairly under control. My dad used to work for ESDA which basically disaster relief and they’re very effective. I’m going to grab some needed items for donation and drop them off and keep my eyes peeled for stray pets. Social media is keeping everyone informed and in touch, so hopefully this will get cleaned up and sorted quickly. There’s even someone volunteering to take on fish (pet fish) for people who need it! What a nice thing to think of! 🙂

      • It is indeed! 🙂 🙂 🙂
I like so very much your willingness and optimism 🙂 🙂 🙂 a positive attitude is so very needed in those bad situations! A thousand of hugs are crossing the ocean to you 🙂 🙂 🙂

  2. I’ve lived in the Deep South and on the Southeastern Coast and on the West Coast so I got tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes in my past. Now I’m living in Seattle so I get to worry about floods, earthquakes, and volcanoes. None of which give you much warning. I prefer the shit that strikes from nowhere because if there’s one thing I hate it’s waiting for the bad stuff to come.

I’m glad your town didn’t get hit by tornadoes, and I hope it never does. I flipping hate the things. They are the main reason I left the South and moved back West. I couldn’t take the weather anymore. I’d rather be struck without warning and get it over with than wait in fear. But that’s just me. I’m weird that way. ^_^
